Management Committee Meeting: Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine

The Management Team met in Liverpool on 12 October 2010 to review progress of the project to-date. The following topics were reviewed and discussed:-
- Expert Advisory Group: the review of the project by the EAG was discussed and, where necessary, changes were made to the plans for future events.
- Workshop No 3 (“Artemisinin Resistance”): the report on the Workshop held in Liverpool on 05 October was reviewed.
- Workshop No 1 (“Novel Targets & chemotypes for P falciparum and P vivax”): the plans for the last workshop to be held in Liverpool on 25-26 October were reviewed.
- ASTMH Evening Event: the plans for the evening presentation to be held in Atlanta during the Annual Meeting of ASTMH were reviewed.
- Organisational issues: the Management Team discussed the possible extension of the project by 6 months to allow for its proper completion and also on what steps could be taken to ensure the recommendations could be taken forward once the current Consortium funding had ended.
- Communication Plans: the Management Team also discussed the communications plan, including the series of papers to be published in a peer-reviewed journal, a report for widespread distribution, and a tour of major funding organisations.
